An exciting FormLogix version – The basic form editor

In this wonderful new version we have added a new form builder editor to create web
forms .
While our original form builder is an advanced WYSIWYG tool which provides flexible design using a simple drag & drop motion, the basic form editor lets you create simple forms without having to deal with the design aspects that much. In the new Basic editor all you do is construct a Pool of questions and define the Flow (sequence of questions) and the form is ready to use. You can create a basic flow by simply defining the order of questions in the pool, or you can create a compound flow which consists of several possible routes (based on the form filler's input) – this is what we call a conditional form (if the answer to question 1 is A than go to question 2, if it is B than go to question 3…).
It is a great tool for creating your web forms easily and quickly. It is also the ideal tool for creating surveys and polls.

Design your form by adding a roll over effect

A form's design is important especially if you intend on embedding the form and making it an integral part of your web page - you want it to blend in and not stick out.
Using a form builder to create your email form you can control the web form's design easily and even make it special by placing element wherever you like, adding images and even adding a roll over effect to your email form.

Following are steps to add a roll over effect to your email form:
1- enter your form in the form creator.
2- drag a container element from the 'elements' section in the upper toolbar.
3- select the element and go to the 'element settings' on the right.
4- enter a color name or number in the 'Mouse Over Color' - for the color that will appear once the cursor hovers over the container.
5- enter a color name or number in the 'Mouse Out Color' - for the color that will appear once the cursor steps out of the container area.
6- press on 'apply'.
7- save the form.

Continues feedback form

Cloning the FormLogix account

This option allows an account owner to duplicate his account. When an account is duplicated only his forms are copied, while the data is not.

Following are steps to clone your account:
1- Login to FormLogix form builder
2- Press on the "Edit Your Preferences" link (under the top menu in the 'data center').

3- Go to the 'Account Cloning' section and enter a new email address under which the new account will be set up.

4- Press on the 'clone' button.
5- Press on the 'retrieve password' link to send yourself the new account's password.
6- Login to your new account.

Changing the account email address

What is the difference between a FormLogix gadget and a FormLogix form?

The FormLogix form
FormLogix is a form builder with which anyone can create database driven web forms.
Using the form builder you can create an endless array of forms (contact, order, invitation, registration, poll, survey etc.) in a very flexible design. You can either use a template or create the form from scratch. The form builder also allows creating forms in many languages (English, Spanish, Chinese, French, Hebrew, Arabic, Dutch and Russian).

Once someone enters data in your form a new data entry alert is automatically sent to you (email form). In addition to this email other emails may be sent as well (to the form filler or/and to a mailing list) at your request.
All the data entered in your form is stored in a web management tool which allows you to manage your data online (online database). This tool allows you to edit the data, delete, add, export data, import data, correspond with the form filler etc.

In order to use the form publically you will need to buy a subscription. There is a trial period of 30 days in which you can only use the forms privately.
There are no ads or 'powered by' text when the form is submitted – only the FormLogix logo, which appears for a few seconds after the form is submitted.

The FormLogix gadget
The FormLogix gadget is a ready-made form that you can use 'as is'.
The gadgets are only in English and in a certain size. You cannot make any changes in them (you can only choose the background color and email to which the data alerts will be sent to) – So in this respect there is no flexibility.

Following is a summation of the gadget VS. Regular form:

variety
gadget – there are currently 13 gadgets to choose from.
Regular form – endless array of forms you can create (contact form, order form, invitation form, registration etc).

Languages
gadget – English.
Regular form - several languages (English, Hebrew, Arabic, Dutch, Russian, Chinese, French and Spanish).

Flexibility
gadget – not flexible, may use 'as is'.
Regular form – flexible design and use.

Data
gadget – sent to your email address upon data entry (email form).
Regular form – sent to your email upon data entry and stored in a data management tool
(email form +web database).

Emails upon data entry
gadget –all gadgets send emails to the form owner and some also to the form filler – you cannot change the settings of the gadget.
Regular form – all forms send emails to the form owner and you can choose to send emails to form fillers and mailing list recipients as well.

Price
gadget – the gadget is free.
Regular form – the account in which the regular form is created has a 30 day trial period in which all forms are free. In addition each form has a limit of 20 submissions after which the form becomes inactive.

'Powered by' text
gadget – has 'powerd by' text when the form is submitted.
Regular form – has a small formlogix logo appear after the form is submitted.

How to use the Auto position in the form builder?

Auto position is one of the tools in the form builder for placing elements in alignment and in equal spacing from one another.
This is how it works:
1- once you select an element in your email form and turn on the 'auto position' checkbox.

2- The next time you press on an element in the upper toolbar it will appear below (one grid junction below) and aligned to the selected element.
Now the second element will be selected instead of the first and the next time you press on an element it will appear under it. (In the same alignment and equal vertical space).

Please note that you can control the vertical space in this option by changing the number of pixels in the 'form settings' - 'vertical snap' .

Sms alerts

In addition to the emails sent by default to the form owner, he can also receive an SMS alert in his cell phone.

In order to have the alerts sent you need to:
1-Order an SMS bulk in the payment center. (and make the payment in PayPal)

2- Enter each form you want to get an SMS alert for and type the cellphone number in the form settings.
3- Press 'apply' and save the form in the form builder.

How to make a copy of the form?

Sometimes users need to create several forms which are almost identical. It would be a waste of time and energy to try and create several forms from scratch once you finished the first one and can simply copy it. Moreover, creating all the forms separately will result in them not being identical. In a situation like this the best thing to do is use the 'Clone' option in the form builder.
Clone copies the design of the form exactly, without its content (the data entered in the form is not copied).

Following are steps to clone the form:
1- purchase a FormLogix subscription for the form you want to copy since only paid forms may be cloned.
2- Press on the 'clone' option in the' data center' (in the relevant form row).
3- A new identical form will open in the form builder and you will be required to give it a new name.
4- Make the changes you need and save the form.
5- Please note that the 'post submit url' and 'mailing list' content will not be copied to the cloned form.

If you wish to copy only a part of the form you can do so as well by:
A- copying the entire form using the 'clone' option
or by
B- Using the 'field template' option.

Using the Field template

The field template is way to store single or a group of fields for future use.
Sometimes you create a form and you already know that a part of it will be used again in other forms (such as address and telephone fields etc) - in this case it
would be a smart move to save this part of the data as a field template.

The field template list consists of general templates created by FormLogix that may be used by all users, and custom templates each user can create for himself. Please note that when a form owner creates a field template in the form builder -it will only appear in his field template list.

The Field option resides in the top toolbar 'tools' section and it consists of 3 icons:
1- Field Template List
2- Add Field Template
3- Delete Field Template

Field Template List
This option allows a user to choose a template from the template list and add it to his form. Once a template is chosen it will appear in the main design area along with all the elements of the form. you can then move it, edit it as you wish, remove fields from it...etc.

Add Field Template
This option allows a form owner to create a field template which will be added to his field template list.
In order to add a field template you need to:
A. select the single field or the container holder of the field group (if you want to save a group of fields you must place them in a container element).
B. press on 'Add Field Template'
C. Give the template a name
(Once this is done you can go to the Field template list and see the new template added there)

Delete Field Template
This option allows a form owner to delete field templates (only those he created) from the template list. All you need to do is choose the template from the list and delete it.

SMS Alerts
This feature allows the form owner to receive Sms alerts in addition to the ones he/she get via email. The purchased SMS’s may be applied to all active forms in the account.

Email validation
Using this feature the form owner can make sure that the email address which is entered in his form is valid (is not a fake address/ is not incorrect). The validation takes place in real-time while the form filler is filling in the form.

A messaging system allowing the form owner and the form filler to exchange messages back and forth in the form of a private forum.

Field Masking
A regular textbox may be formatted to collect: alpha numeric data, numeric data, date (month, day and year) and time (hour, minute and second).

Open in grid bug fix- the checkbox, which was turned on by default, sometimes used to change to “turned on” even when it was defined as “turned off”. This was dealt with and the defaultive stste was also changed to “turned off”.

In the last 3 years we have been providing free forms, during this period many users were blocked due to form abuse and spamming. This situation became worse in the last few months forcing us to deal with it.

On October 17th FormLogix will start applying an automatic account cleanup and termination policy.
According to this termination policy user accounts which are found to have no paid
forms in them for the last *60 days will be terminated – this procedure will be
performed automatically, without a notification to the account owner.

‘Terminated’ means that all forms and data will be deleted without an option
to restore them and that the account will be closed.

*60 days - 60 days previous to cleanup date, checked at any given time and starting with 60 days passed the user’s registration date.

Free widgetbox forms currently not availabele

What is post submit url?

When you create a form you often want it to redirect to another web page once it is submitted. This operation is called "post submit url".

Using the FormLogix form builder you can easily add this feature to your forms. you can redirect a form to another form you created in the system or simply redirect it to a url of your choice. Many users find it useful and customer oriented to create a thank you page in their website. In this page they usually thank the user for filling in the form, provide some information about the company, links to selected pages and they expected response time.
Using the "post submit url" you can easily redirect your form to this kind of thank you page.

1- New report result table toolbar – brand new look to the links that used to appear above the result table.

Form Assistance
We decided to help all you form creators and guide you through a better, more effective form creation process. Our FormLogix team will provide feedback and tips on how to design the form (alignments, backgrounds etc), how to match the elements and content (for example choosing a more suitable element for the information you wish to collect) and how to technically define form features (such as defining field captions, mandatory fields, tab index etc ).

Form Integration
We added a new feature in which a form owner can integrate a payment process in his/her form and allow users to securely purchase his/her product.
The payments may be carried out by 4 different entities: Paypal, Swreg, Google checkout and Moneybookers.

Tiny Version - Google Maps and more

We just uploaded a tiny version which consists of the following:
1- Google Maps - we now enable our users to export data to "Google Maps" and see the geographic origin of each data entry.
2- An option to delete field template has been added to allow users to clear unnecessary templates in their list.
3- Export filtered data bug fix – there was a bug in which data that was filtered could not be exported to excel. This bug has been completely fixed. In addition, admin fields (such as: entry date, rowed, ip, remarks) did not appear in the filter’s field listbox - this was fixed as well.

Use Email Change or Mailing List?

There are two ways to control the email form alerts sent whenever data is entered in the form. The first is Mailing list and the second is account email change:
The mailing list option allows informing other emails recipients of new data entries but leaves all control of the account in your hands. Email change option moves all the account forms under a new email address. The proprietor of the new email address will become the new account owner.

Once you set up an account in FormLogix (registration is free) all data entered in the account forms will automatically be sent to the account owner.
Since sometimes users wish to have other people informed when data is entered in their email form - a "mailing list" option (in the “form settings”) was created. This option sends a copy of the entered data to a valid email address in addition to the data sent automatically to the form owner.
Even though a copy of the data is sent to others the control over the account email forms design and data management is still in the exclusive hands of the account owner only.

If one combines this option with the “Disable Emails” feature (under form settings as well) the account owner can choose to stop all emails sent to himself altogether and have only the copy sent to mailing list recipients defined in the “mailing list”. This option is only a conscious choice not to get emails – the control over the account is still in the account owner’s hands.
The email sent to "mailing list" recepients may be customized by using the "custome user email" option.

The “Email change” (in the user preferences) is the option used when you wish to have the forms sent by default to a new email address altogether, by transferring the entire account under this new email address and making the new owner of this account the only one who can access the forms, design them and edit the data. Since this option moves the entire account to a different email it does not suite those who wish to send one form’s data to a different recipient, or to those who still want to have the control over their forms and data.

How to embed your form within your site or blog

After creating a form with FormLogix a user can externalize the form and collect data through it.
this externalizing process is called "publish". The FormLogix form builder provides 5 different ways of publishing your form, from which only 2 are ways to embed a form:
1- URL - this is the url of the form.
2- IFRAME - this is the form code to be embedded mostly in blogs.
3- LINK - this is the link for others to enter the form through.
4- SCRIPT - this is the form code to be embedded in a website.
5- MAIL - A link to a window from which you can send an email, containing the form link to someone.

Spanish Homepage and live support

1. Live support –
online help is now added in the “contact” page and in the FormLogix top menu bar (after logging in). The live support is a chat that is designed to provide immediate assistance to our users.

3. auto complete –
a feature added to the elements in the form designer, which is aimed at completing the user’s text while he is typing in the element.

5. Minor bug fixes: A. saved filters/reports with no row id.

4- minor bug fixes including file uploaded name, which had a character added by mistake to its name causing it to be invalid.

Customizing user emails

Up till now users who wished to send their form fillers and mailing list addresses an email containing the data entered in the form could only add a short message that would appear at the top of the email. This option is of course the “email user message”.

We are glad to offer a new and exiting addition feature concerning the user emails – the custom user email. This option allows one to create a long message, edit its style (font family, size, color…) and most of all it has the capacity of inserting variables to the message.

Multi line fix

There was an issue with the multiline element, where users could not view/edit the data that was stored in the past.

A great spring line

We have yet again created a new and amazing version.
Following are the additions/changes in this version:

1- SSL
The option for purchasing forms with SSL is now added in the payment center.
Take Note – all users who have purchased their forms in the former version are entitled to free SSL (on those forms). All you need to do in order to use this option is to re-publish your paid forms so they will update as https.

2- Languages added – Russian and Dutch.
Our form creator now supports Dutch and Russian as well as the other languages: English, French, Chinese, Spanish, Arabic and Hebrew –making it a total of 8 supported languages.
This could not have been possible if it wasn’t for our wonderful users Alexei & Tali Belobokov (Russian) and rob vellekoop (Dutch) who translated the form creator for us – thanks again guys!

3 – Continues FormsA feature enabling the user to create a multi-page form.
This multi-page form, or as we call it the continues form, is constructed of at least 2 existing forms in a certain order. It is available for paid forms only.

4- Payment Calculator
A payment calculator was added to the free-form-builder page to help users find out exactly how much they will need to pay.

5- Spaces between Radio Items.
This feature was on our “to do list” and sought after by many users.
It lets a user enter the “width” in pixels between the radio items, thus controlling the space between items and being able to have several radio elements aligned.

6- Mailto option in link element.
This option added to the link element settings allows a user to create a link in his/her form, which when pressed opens an the user’s default email program.

7- Sending an access invitation to one user at a time
We saw the need to add the choice of sending an access invitation to your form or public report to one user listed in the access window at a time.

8- Preview of form in form builder
The feature of preview has been added to the form creator toolbar and it enables the form owner to view and enter data in the form prior to publishing it.

9- No thank you message in post submit url
Before, When a user defined a “post submit url” in his form the form filler would see a thank you window for a few seconds till the form redirected somewhere else. As of now this window will not be visible in cases where a post submit url is added to the form.

10- New file types may be permitted for upload
.xlsx, .docx, .dwg, .skp.

11- Grid snap settings
As of now the vertical and horizontal grid snap settings will be saved along with the specific form and there will be no need to change them each time one entered the form to design it.

12- Help on “Tell a friend”
Seeing as many users ask about creating a “tell a friend” form, we decided to add help on the topic.

13- Bug Fix – drop down menu under secondary toolbar
When a user created a long form the secondary right toolbar used to appear beneath the element settings. Whenever the user tried to open of the listbox/radio/linkform the item list in the element settings it would be partially hidden by the secondary toolbar.
This, of course, was fixed.

14- Shorter publish URL
We have decided to give you all a break and provide you with shorter, easier publish URLs.

Email Editor, Private Fields and more

Hello users,
Once again a new version is out. This version has several exciting additions in store for you.
1) A new data management e-mail editor. Starting from now an account manager can enter his/her mailing option in the report page and send stylish emails to his/her recipients. The editor translates all your choices (whether it be font size and family or link) to html.

2) Private access fields.
For those of you interested in adding their data to each entry without having the form fillers know anything about it - we have added this feature just for you. This option allows a form owner to add hidden fields that will not appear in his published form and later add his private data in those fields.

3) View single entry in the email format.
We have been asked about this for quite some time and now it is available. Using the ‘tools’ sub menu in the result table one can choose between viewing an existing entry in the form format (the way it was till now) or in our mail format.

4) Reply to Form Filler
A reply to a new entry alert email containing the form filler’s email address will automatically define the recipient as the form filler.

3 cool Expiration features in form builder

Following a few requests we have decided to add 3 new cool features to our form builder. These features all deal with the form expiration and they are located in the "Form Settings":
1 - Max Rows
A textbox in which a form owner can determine the maximum entry rows he wants to collect, after which the form will expire. The default value 0 means that there is no row limit.
2- Close Form On
A textbox in which a form owner can determine the expiration date of his form. Date format is mm/dd/yyyy (mm range from 1-12, dd range from 1-31).
3- Force Single Row Per User
A checkbox that a form owner can use to limit each user and allow him to submit only one entry.

We have done serveral other fixes and changes such as changing the checkbox values in the emails from false/true to no/yes, but the main additions are the expiration features.

Web database Print and Form builder Undo Redo

A few days ago we received an email from Erna Tremper, a loyal user, asking about an option to print the entire result table in the report page.
We found her suggestion worthy and decided to fill her request- So thanks Erna.
We are now very happy to inform you all that this feature has been added. Once the 'Print' option that is situated in the 'Options Row' above the result table is pressed, a window will appear showing a printing preview.
We have also made our Redo, Undo options in the form creator (Ctrl+z, Ctrl+y) much smoother.

We want to thank all our senior users for their support and encouragement on our new paid version service. Nice to see that so many of you find our tool and service beneficial.

Users are constantly asking us about how to upgrade their account and so we decided to place 2 links to our 'Payment Center': one in the report page and one in the owner email (of non paid users of course).
Also we have gotten some feedbacks from our paying users regarding the FormLogix logo appearing in their emails. And so we removed our logo from all emails in the paid accounts.

FormLogix Form Builder New Policy

We have just issued a new policy, in which we explain about our new paid version.
Since we started FormLogix, our aim was to create a powerful flexible tool and also service the community.
It seems we have succeeded on both counts. We've been adding features all the time and the feedbacks we've gotten only tell us that we're on the right way.

We believe in giving the best service and nothing less, since we are only 2 individuals working we try to give our service a personal feel as well.
But apparently our work and efforts are not enough. The overhead was getting to be too high, and so we decided to create 2 options: a free version and a paid version.

First option - Free Version
Once signing in to our service a new user will enjoy a free and fully functional version for a period of 7 days.
Users who already subscribed before July/2007 will also enjoy our fully functional
service for a period of 30 days.

Once this Grace Period is over the version will change in to our official Free Version and some of the features in the fully functional experience will not be available any more. Also there will be ads in this version.

Second option - Paid Version
This version is fully functional and will be completely free of ads.

Putting things in order

We have decided to deal with a few small issues. But as you all know what seems small to one person may seem big to another...

We would like to thank our loyal user Bruno who brought the first 2 issues to our attention -way to go Bruno!

1. Apostrophe in data entries
Up till now our system ignored the apostrophe typed in data entries – it was not showing in the emails a form owner or copy carbon recipient got, and did not show in the report rows and edit/info mode.
This has been changed and we are proud to say that the apostrophe will no longer be absent.

2. Emails sent from report suspected of spoofing
Several external mail servers were rejecting our emails, sent through the report center due to spoofing suspicions. We have no intent to spoof and so we fixed this issue.

3. Field order in emails, in the result table and in the filter list field according to tab index.
Tab index will determine the order of fields showing
1) in the emails to form owners and other recipients,
2) in the result table (in the report page)
3) in the filter field list

4. New default descending sort of data entries
We have changed the default view mode in the result table so data entries will be shown according to entry date in descending order- this way users will immediately see the last entries on top.

5. User link to data view upon form submission
Upon form submission a window used to appear with the message that the data was sent successfully.
Now we have added a link just below this message, enabling the to view a summation of the data the user has just filled in.

6. File upload link showing in form owner link to data
File upload data was absent from emails sent to form owners, but is now available as link so one can view the file attached.

7. View state of filters
When working on a filtered report, adding or deleting data from the result table will not cancel the filter, but rather will keep showing the relevant entries based on the active filter.

Our web database now shows line breaks in textarea

Up till now the result table of the web database showed each data entry in one row without any line breaks (enteres). This of course was most noticeable in the textarea fields which were in many cases cut (when a long text was entered) and only when hovering over them one could see the rest of the text (in the alt).
The text was flattened in to one row, cut after a few characters and ended with the "..." chars.
This, we are happy to report, was just fixed and now the result table reveals much more -especially when it comes to the textarea. The table reveals up to 150 chars in the textarea field and up to 300 when one hovers over it.

Date field in export from the web database to excel

Formated emails for web form owners and users

Upon every data entry an email is sent by default to the web form owner. In many cases form fillers receive a carbon copy of the form they filled, and people whose addresses are added to a mailing list get a copy as well.
All these emails were plain text emails: boring to look at, sometimes it was hard to read but now we just added a fresh new email form look, it's html formatted, which makes them 'lighter on the eyes', we are so happy from this feature and we hope that you gals/guys will like it too.

form builder new on mouse over effect

We have just added a new cool effect one can implement in a container element.
This effect is what is known as "onMouseOver" and "onMouseOut".
Entering a mouse over color and mouse out color gives the container a roll over effect, so when a user hovers over the container he will see one color, and when he moves his mouse away it will change to another color.
One can use this effect in anyway he likes. A recommended use is to place a link inside this container, and that's how you can create a link with a rollover effect.

This version is a blast. It contains some really powerful features making it really relevant and important – worthy of the thrown.

• mini toolbar for higher forms.
This is our jewel in the crown, as they say, in regard to this version. We have come up with a solution for all those creating longer forms. When a form setting is defined to be longer than 670px a secondary side toolbar appears in the right side of the form creator. This toolbar enables users to drag and drop all elements and apply other options (such as aligning or font style) from this near toolbar instead of having to scroll to the top of the form builder.

• Restoring data entries
This has been a long overdue topic which we encounter all the time. Users seem to delete their data by mistake and contact us to restore it. Now the ball is in your court – the new ‘Restore Entries’ option in the report page enables a user to recover all data that was deleted, with the exception of data that was deleted with ‘delete all’ option.
• Restoring forms
This issue has also been a repeated problem, but can now be solved by applying this ‘Restore forms’ option in the data center. This option is located in the application list header near the title and using it restores all forms that were ever deleted.
• public charts
Till now we have provided an option of sharing reports. Now we have added the option of chart sharing which we are sure will make our analyze tool fans very happy…

• label align
The use of the align option has been enhanced and it does not apply only to multiple elements in relation to one another anymore, but now a user can also align the text in a single label element.
• google calendar
New Field template enabling all who use google calendar and want to embed it in their forms to share their schedules with their users.

• date format MONTH DAY YEAR
Date field in the report has been formatted to month name/dd/yy instead of mm/dd/yy (to avoid mix ups)

While designing the labels at first place, I didn't think that Align features(left, right and center) are a needed feature.
why ?
first of all because i was wrong and second because I thought that the flexible position is good enough…
that’s why I've re-designed the labels so they will support toolbar alignment,
this feature is already available and I would like to thank the one who keep saying it wrong..

3 new field templates

Three new field templates have been added to the form creator. They are all form templates:
Business Card - a section of fields for collecting business data such as company name, email, telephone number etc.
Address Horizontal - a horizontal layout of fields for collecting address data, such as city name, street name etc.
Address Vertical - a vertical layout of fields for collecting address data.
These three templates were created to save you some time and give you ready made sections of common forms. of course theses sections are completely editable in every way. You can change the field order, the colors, add fields or remove fields.

Mini may version

This is a mini version with one major feature-import.
This feature which has always been requested by users is a huge step.
It enables users to not only start collecting data with formlogix but also continuing an existing data collection.

This version consists of the following:

• Import data
importing data from Excel is now available. Read more on import
• Tab Index In Button
• Leading zero In Textbox and Excel
A bug found by our dear user Bruno Tisserand in which numbers entered in regular textboxes starting with the digit 0 kept showing up without the zero (just like in a numeric textboxe) – this also happened in the data exported to excel. This issue is now fixed and a leading zero is no longer absent in both cases.
• French Translation Fix
Many thanks to Bruno Tisserand (again) for providing us with a good French translation. As we are not French speakers but would still like to provide our French speaking users with a good experience. - this is most appreciated.
• Https Url
thanks to our user Peter Steinbach it is now it is possible to enter https based urls in ‘post submit url’ as well as http- So thanks peter…
• Tips
• dynamic params for more advanced users
For those of you who wish to do some cool stuff with the forms data we now provides two methods of generating data:

1) The first one is using "post submit url", once using the post submit url your url will contain pairs of data elements which are generated by the form. This is the url you should put in the post submit url textbox.

today we came up with 2 new geoip tools.
basically we integrated 2 new great tools into our platform and we are happy to give some credit to those who really built the GEOIP tool

Spring version part 2

Our last version was indeed exciting but it was partial in our eyes. We had so many ideas while working on it that we felt it was incomplete even before we released it. There is always so much to be done :-).
Now we are happy to announce the coming out ‘spring version part 2’ featuring all the features and improvements that make the spring version really complete.

This version consists of the following:
• The return of - Change Email
The ‘change email’ option (in the ‘user preferences’) which was disabled due to user spamming is now available again for use...so enjoy.
• Field Template
Templates of single fields or sections of fields that a user can load and use in his/her forms. Such as a list of continents, countries etc.• Listbox Mandatoryallowing the form owner to make this field mandatory and force the form fillers to choose a value from the list.
• Disable Emails
This option enables a form owner to disable the email alerts sent to him by default upon every data entry.
• Multiple Select
A column in the report designed to select all rows or some of them for further operations such as deletion or sending mail.
• Delete Selected Items
An option for mass deleting data entries
• Delete All
An option for deleting all data entries in all pages of the report and resetting the RowId so the new entries will start from id number 1.
This option does not require row selection.
• Element Tool Tip
Standing on an element in a published form will now show the element caption and not the element type.
• Enlarge Label Size Fix
When a label’s font size is enlarged the label container will not exceed the forms dimensions.
• Email - Reply To
Once a form is filled the form filler (send copy) and addresses specified in the mailing list will receive an email and will be able to reply to the form owner account by simply using the email reply button.
• Reorder of report fields in report
Using the filter option one can choose the fields they want to view and they will appear in the order in which they were chosen.
• Manual file upload
A manual file upload button was added to the file selection window for situations in which it does not start automatically.
• Progress bar made smaller
The progress bar that appears once a form is submitted was made smaller to suit the smaller forms as well as the larger ones.
• Ip Field Added To Report
Each report now contains the Ip of all data entries. The ip data was always stored but is only now available for viewing.

Email Fields Order -Bug fix

we've just received an email from Bruce Munroe, he was raising a weird issue.
he claims that sometimes the email were out of sync, after investigating this issue we realize that we are doing something wrong.
since we are using AJAX calls , we tried to minimized the traffic being sent to our servers, we then filter empty fields which cause them to get out of order.
we issues a quick fix for this and you will all enjoy this fix automatically.

we are going to launch a new version in couple of days, and we hope you guys LOVE those new cool features bug fix and improvements!

Network issues, mini version and other stuff

* Yesterday the website was down around 30 minutes due to network issues that were out of our control and so we hope that users didn't get too frustrated.
* Currently we are working on a new mini version which will come out sometime next week -there is much to look forward to...
* Some of you may have noticed that the "change email" option in the "user preferences" is temporarily not working - this is due to a user abuse of our tester user preferences. Meanwhile if you need to change your account email you may contact us.
Once the new version will be up next week this option will be available again.

Spam Protect

Spam Protect is a feature that prevents a form filler from automatically bombarding your form with submissions and spamming your data entry report.
Once a form filler presses on the submit button a window appears requesting him/her to enter a the random captcha number showing. This procedure makes sure that the form filler is manually filling the form.
So if you find that your form is being spammed - this is the feature for you.

Form sharing

So far we have provided our users with ready made forms in the form of web widgets or templates, and we find that both options are popular.
It seems that some people find it easier to alter an existing form rater than creating one from scratch in the form builder. This of course is a legitimate option and we always want to make things easier for our users, if we can. And so we have decided to create another source of ready made forms – a user form directory.
By sharing a form, our users contribute to a growing form community. Once a user shares a form it is categorized by a certain Tag making it easier for other users to search for it later…
This directory allows users to show off their beautiful forms, it gives other users ideas and also the option to use the form as the basis for their own form. Sharing of a form does not include sharing of data and so there is no need to worry about your private information being revealed when you share your form.

Hello fellow users,
Once again we are coming out with an exciting new version. This version revolves mainly around the community issue. We believe that by users sharing their forms and ideas the form creation process becomes easier and more fruitful.
If you are pleased with our platform, and make good use of it do not hesitate to spread the word about us so others may find it useful as well.
We also need your help with translating to foreign interfaces. If you are a native speaker of a foreign language (Spanish, French, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Arabic) we will be happy to use your help on this one.

• Form Sharing
A form directory created by and for users. Any user can share his/her form with Other users. Sharing a form does not include sharing of data.
• Clone Of Shared Forms
A user may clone any shared form and use it as the basis for his/her form.
• Tag cloud
Every shared form is ascribed to a certain tag (category) and may be searched using the tag.
• Spam Protect
A feature that forces a form filler to fill in a captcha field when submitting the form, and so situation in which people may spam your form entries by automatically submitting the form a few times is avoided.
• Account Email Change
Due to many users contacting us and asking to change their account email address we have decided to add this feature to the ‘user preferences’ and let the users the ability to do it themselves.
• Faster and smoother Save
The form saving process has been shortened significantly in heavy forms, not that it was slow…but now it’s even faster…
• Email element - mandatory or optional
So far the email element was used in a mandatory mode only. Now it is possible to insert this element without forcing the form filler to fill it.
• Numeric textbox element - mandatory or optional
Same as email element- now may be used as optional field.
Both the email and numeric field being optional are driven from a request made by our user kai.
• Checkbox element - mandatory or optional
This field was always optional, but now it can become a mandatory field, forcing the form filler to check it before submitting the form (for example when you want the form filler to agree to certain terms before he/she submits it)
We would like to thank our user Xinfinitum from ‘Double to a million’ who suggested this.
• Email Element Send Copy
Email element sends copy carbon of form data to the form filler by default.
• Numeric Textbox Element – LTR
Entering data in the numeric textbox will always be from left to right.

Friendlier printing from info mode

Latley we've been notified by a dear member of our community- ken fox - to provide a friendlier version of our printed form, we add some issues with printing the form in a friendlier format due to flexible html..But we've managed to solve the problem and we issued a quick fix for it.

Putting our users at (Help) Center stage

We’ve just added some new and important help manuals to our help center and invite all our users to visit and check them out.
This is also a good opportunity to encourage our users to make use of this immediate help and not automatically overlook this option before they decide to address us.

Along with these new help manuals we have also added search boxes powered by google in the Help Center and contact page – just to better help you find specific topics from within our website.

two birds with one stone

We didn’t think we’d release another version so soon after the last one… But there were 2 users that addressed us about certain issues and we didn’t want them to have to wait.
The first was a problem with the file upload that our dear user Ted Capknais found. The second was a feature that we were planning on releasing, but not at this time – Form Cloning- this was brought up by Ken Fox. So we said ‘what the hell’ and decided to release another version. Thanks guys!
Lucky for us (and for our users) we keep adding and improving features all the time, so even though it’s been a short time since the last version, we seem to have accumulated other features, additions and fixes that are sure to make other users happy as well.

The features are:
• upload file fix
Due to a new data storage we had a minor issue with users that registered between the 5th and 7th of februery.
• clone forms
This is a realy cool feature, now our users can clone any existing form in their account through the data center. Read how to clone a form.
• Ie7- height bug
There was a problem with the form height and width in IE7. Read more about it.
• Auto number in mail + filer
each time a form is submitted, a unique number is attached to it for tracking. This number appears in the form report and may use a a filtering field.
• Change email account.
Users can now change their e-mail accounts without being dependant on us.
• Delete form option removed from form creator.
We took our user Kevyn Williams comment to our attention and decided to place this option only in the data center, so users will not accidentaly delete their form when trying to delete an element.
• Delete form in datacenter with double validation
Again, to avoid any accidetal deletions of form.
• Text area too long fix
We added a quick fix for this on the last version (Read more), so now we just added some tying of loose ends.
• label auto size + enter fix
Added extended support to the label control. pressing enter when editing will make make the element higher.
• Additional help manuals

Textarea maximum length - The Bug and the Fix

We've been notified by a couple of our users that once a textarea field contains a very long text and then submitted a client side message shows up.
Actually this client message was part of our debug efforts and it helped us to catch weird behavior. We didn't think that users would type in more then 1024 chars and it was a surprise to see that two users did the same thing in the same hour... (capkanis, you found it first so you are the winner…)
This issue was raised by two of our users and we want to thank them for this:

We've just fixed this issue and we've added a limitation to the number of chars that a textarea can contain. We will also issue a friendlier UI behavior to this in our next version.

Ooops they did it again - hot fix

Ooops they did it again,
IE7 Is not one of my top friends of the day, after launching our new ver 2 days ago we discovered that there is something wired going on with IE7 and our form designer.

We found out that if you are using IE7 and stretching the form to a value bigger then 800 (don’t ask me why) it was not stretching correctly and if you were trying to reduce the form height then you would get it all messed up.

We spent quite a few hours in order to figure what is wrong …
What we discovered is that IE7 is rendering the html relatively slow compared to IE6.
We just released a hot fix for this issue. What we did was add some timers to the rendering operation, so any stretching of forms will be delayed in 0.7 seconds.
That seems to solve the problem.

We would like to thank our user ARI for his Patience and - we hope you didn't suffer from it too much.
